Other Events Observed During the Premarketing Evaluation of Fluvoxamine During premarketing clinical trials conducted in North America and Europe, multiple doses of immediate-release fluvoxamine maleate tablets were administered for a combined total of 2737 patient exposures in patients suffering OCD or Major Depressive Disorder. Nine metabolites were identified following a 5 mg radiolabelled dose of fluvoxamine maleate, constituting approximately 85% of the urinary excretion products of fluvoxamine. In one retrospective chart review of 352 patients who were supervised during tapering and discontinuation from serotonin reuptake inhibitor therapy, dizziness, lethargy, paresthesia, nausea, vivid dreams, irritability, and lowered mood were the most common symptoms reported.
