remeron and grapefruit juice
Do not use Remeron if you have used an MAO inhibitor within the past 14 days. It may take up to several weeks before your symptoms improve. Take Remeron by mouth with or without food. Lithium No relevant clinical effects or significant changes in pharmacokinetics have been observed in healthy male subjects on concurrent treatment with subtherapeutic levels of lithium (600 mg/day for 10 days) at steady state and a single 30 mg dose of mirtazapine. Serious, life threatening side effects can occur if you use mirtazapine before the MAO inhibitor has cleared from your body.
If you have any of these other conditions, you may need a mirtazapine dose adjustment or special tests:
liver or kidney disease;
bipolar disorder (manic depression);
seizures or epilepsy;
low blood pressure or dizzy spells;
high cholesterol or triglycerides;
heart disease, including remeron and grapefruit juice (chest pain);
a history of heart attack or stroke; or
a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts.
You may have thoughts about suicide while taking an antidepressant, especially if you are younger than 24 years old. Special warnings about Remeron SolTab In clinical studies, antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children and adolescents with depression and other psychiatric disorders. However, the impairment of cognitive and motor skills produced by Remeron were shown to be additive with those produced by alcohol. Mirtazapine is used to remeron and grapefruit juice major depressive disorder. It is not known whether Remeron appears remeron and grapefruit juice breast milk. Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided by Cerner Multum, Inc. Prescriptions for RemeronSolTab® (mirtazapine) Orally Disintegrating Tablets should be written for the smallest quantity of tablets consistent with good patient management, in order to reduce the risk of overdose. Hyponatremia remeron and grapefruit juice has been reported very rarely with the use of mirtazapine. Such monitoring should include daily observation by families and caregivers. Remeron should be used with caution if you have active liver or kidney disease, or heart or blood pressure problems. If you have a cholesterol problem, be sure to mention it to your doctor before starting therapy with Remeron. Special Senses: infrequent: eye pain, abnormality of accommodation, conjunctivitis, deafness, keratoconjunctivitis, lacrimation disorder, glaucoma, hyperacusis, ear pain; rare: blepharitis, partial transitory deafness, otitis media, taste loss, parosmia. All patients recovered. If you have any of these other conditions, your doctor may need to adjust the dose of Remeron or order special tests: liver or kidney disease; bipolar disorder (manic depression); seizures or epilepsy; low blood pressure remeron and grapefruit juice dizzy spells; high cholesterol or triglycerides; heart disease, including angina (chest pain); a history of heart attack or stroke; or a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts.
